Geopark Gunung Sewu

The Gunung Sewu Geopark, which became part of the UNESCO Global Geopark in 2015, stretches across three regions: Gunung Kidul, Wonogiri, and Pacitan. Gunung Sewu Geopark is not only famous for its geological richness but also holds high archaeological value, showcasing cultural heritage from ancient times, including relics from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. On top of that, the geopark offers stunning karst landscapes, with around 40,000 karst hills spread across the area, making it the longest karst region in Java Island. Its natural beauty and historical significance make this geopark an attractive travel destination, as well as a place rich in geological and cultural knowledge.
