The museum was established in 2014 and officially inaugurated on October 18, 2019, by Mayor Suaidi Yahya. Located on Teuku Hamzah Bendahara Street, the museum complex features a traditional Acehnese house and supporting structures. The inauguration was marked by traditional art performances, highlighting the museum’s cultural significance.

The museum houses 10 collections, including paintings of former mayors, firearms, cannons, traditional plates, and various jars. It also preserves historical items such as swords, spears, gold coins, traditional fishing tools, old Qur’ans, ceramics, and traditional lamps.
