Paleological Museum of Gorontalo – National Museum Collections & Cultural Heritage

The UPTD Museum Purbakala Provinsi Gorontalo (Paleological Museum of Gorontalo Province) is a general museumlocated in Gorontalo City, Indonesia, officially registered with the Museum Registration system under NPNM 75.71.U.03.0165 and forming part of the official Museum Indonesia network. It preserves and presents historical and cultural artifacts that tell the story of Gorontalo’s social and cultural development.

History of the Museum

The Paleological Museum of Gorontalo was developed as part of an initiative by the provincial government to build a cultural institution that would preserve and educate about regional heritage. Construction began around 2010 with dedicated funding from the regional budget, and the museum was formally established as a technical unit (UPTD) in 2015under gubernatorial regulations. 

This development reflects a long-term commitment to cultural preservation and education in Gorontalo.
