Biak Munara Wampasi

The Biak Munara Wampasi Festival (FBMW) takes place annually from July 1–4 in Biak Numfor, Papua, celebrating local culture and promoting tourism. The festival features Biak cultural performances, marine tourism, natural beauty, sports, and handicraft exhibitions. “Munara Wampasi” means the tidal celebration, a traditional ritual where the Biak community gives thanks for abundant harvests from land and sea. This annual event attracts tourists with its blend of culture, nature, and local creativity, offering a unique and immersive experience for both domestic and international visitors.
