The Tulungagung Regional Museum, also known as Museum Wajakensis, is a cultural institution listed in the Museum Registration system and part of the Indonesian Museum network. Located in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, Indonesia, this museum preserves a variety of museum collections related to local archaeology and cultural traditions.

The museum is owned by the Tulungagung Regency Government and managed by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Tulungagung, responsible for its collections, exhibition programs, and educational outreach. 

History of the Museum

Established in late 1996, the museum was created to house cultural artifacts that had previously been displayed in the Pendopo Kongas Arum Tulungagung. Its name references the Homo Wajakensis fossils discovered in the region’s southern communities, which have become symbolic of the area’s prehistoric heritage.

The museum holds a wide range of national museum collections, including archaeological items such as statues, temple stones, inscriptions, and ethnographic objects like traditional agricultural tools.
