The Regional Museum of Maros (Museum Daerah Kabupaten Maros) is a general museum located in Turikale, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is officially listed in the Museum Registration system and forms part of the national network known as Museum Indonesia, supporting the safeguarding and presentation of valuable museum collections for education and cultural awareness.

History of the Museum

Established in January 2016, the Regional Museum of Maros was created through a decree by the Maros Regent to serve as a cultural and educational institution in the heart of Maros city. The museum building — a former colonial era structure — has been recognized as a cultural heritage building under local government decree since March 19, 2019

The museum houses diverse national museum collections, including:

  • Ethnographic objects including traditional household tools and cultural items.
