자카르타에서 300킬로미터, 세랄에서 140킬로미터 떨어진 반튼주의 도시인 우중 쿨론 국립 공원은 78,619 헥타르너비의 땅과 44,337핵타르의 바다로 이루어진 전체면적 122,955헥타르에 달하는 지역이다. 이 국립공원은 우중쿨론반도, 바나이탄 섬, 푸창 섬, 한데렘섬, 혼제 산 범위 전체를 아우른다. 행정상으로 우중쿨론국립공원은 반튼주의 판데글랑 레젠시의 수무르와 치망구지역에해당한다. 자바코뿔소는 자바에서 가장 큰 동물이자 인도네시아에서 아시아코끼리 다음으로 큰 동물로알려져있다. 이 유일한 생명체는 현재 현저하게 그 수가 감소하고있다. 몇몇 현지인들은 자바코뿔소를 일반적인 동물이라 생각하지만, 몇몇은 굉장히 신성한 고대 생명체라고 생각한다. 자바코뿔소 이외에도, 우중쿨론국립공원은 다른 특별한 많은 야생동물들에게도 유일한 안식처이다.
