After Timor Timur separated from Indonesia and became the sovereign state of Timor-Leste, the pavilion was repurposed as a museum and cultural monument under the responsibility of TMII.
The museum occupies an area of nearly 4,988 square meters and features a main traditional house structure along with several supporting buildings commonly used for traditional ceremonies and cultural performances.
