History of the Museum

The idea of establishing the museum was conceived in October 1990 by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of electricity in Indonesia and the 30th anniversary of OPEC. Construction began in 1992, and the museum was planned with a unique atom-inspired layout. 

 

Museum Collections

The museum displays over 619 educational exhibits that cover: 

  • Interactive displays explaining electrical principles and energy science.
  • Models and tools demonstrating energy technologies from traditional to modern.
  • Audiovisual installations to support experiential learning. 

These collections help visitors understand the science behind energy and electricity in engaging and informative ways.
