Ayo Onam, also known as the Six-Day Eid, is a cultural tradition of the people of Kampar Regency, held every 8th of Syawal as a post-Eid celebration and a moment to strengthen social ties. The tradition is an important part of community life, rich in religious values and local wisdom.
The event is held on March 28, 2026, in the Bangkinang area and its surroundings as the peak of the Rayo Onam 1447 H celebration, with a series of activities taking place from March 27 to 29, 2026. Activities such as mass grave visits, communal dining (makan bajambau), and the Lomang Festival enliven the celebration and reinforce community togetherness.
Beyond its spiritual and social significance, Rayo Onam also serves as a cultural tourism attraction, offering an authentic experience of Kampar’s local traditions.
