The Masjid Agung Kauman Semarang (Kauman Great Mosque) is the most historically significant mosque in Semarang, located centrally within the old Kauman area, serving as a crucial spiritual and cultural heritage site for the city. Established around 1749 and completed in 1750, this mosque adheres to the traditional Javanese architectural style characterized by a classic tiered, pyramidal roof (limasan) and supported internally by four massive wooden central pillars (saka guru).
