Makam Imam Senggolo

The Tomb of Imam Senggolo, officially known as Syekh Burhanuddin, is a revered historical and religious landmark located in the Karabela area of Bengkulu City. Syekh Burhanuddin is historically recognized as the figure who first introduced and performed the Tabut Ceremony in Bengkulu around 1685, a ritual dedicated to commemorating the martyrdom of Husain bin Ali. The Karabela area, which hosts the tomb, is the traditional burial ground for his descendants (the Tabut Family) and serves as a vital location, particularly as the final resting point during the annual Tabut ritual, making the site a central symbol of heritage and pilgrimage for the Tabut tradition.
