The Aceh Tsunami Museum is a powerful memorial and educational center, designed by Indonesian architect Ridwan Kamil. The four-story structure serves as a symbolic tribute to the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, while also functioning as a center for disaster preparedness and a refuge hill in case of future tsunamis. Its architecture reflects both the devastating wave and the traditional raised Acehnese houses built to withstand disasters. Inside, the Tsunami Passage, a narrow corridor with the sound of rushing water, evokes the disaster's atmosphere, leading visitors to the Memorial Hall for remembrance.
