Mesjid Tua Bungku

The Old Bungku Mosque in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, is a relic of the Bungku Kingdom built around 1835 during the reign of King Muh. Baba as a center for the spread of Islam in the region. The mosque was subsequently renovated several times and fell into disuse in 1972 due to the building’s unsafe condition, before finally being designated a cultural heritage site in 1992. To this day, the Old Bungku Mosque remains an important historical site that reflects the development of Islam and cultural heritage in Morowali.
