Masjid Raja Pauh Ranap

The Raja Pauh Ranap Mosque, also known as the Sultan Muda Indragiri Mosque, is a historical and cultural landmark located in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau, Indonesia. Built during the leadership of Sultan Muda Ibrahim (some sources suggest around 1883 or 1920), this mosque is celebrated for its unique architecture that beautifully blends Chinese and Malay influences, featuring an octagonal shape and being largely constructed from durable ulin wood. It serves not only as a place of worship but also as a testament to the Indragiri Kingdom's heritage, housing the tomb of Sultan Muda Ibrahim and his wives near the mihrab, and is also famously associated with a mystical old gong that is believed to sound on its own before danger or disaster, such as the floods that once plagued the area.
