Maros Pangkep Geopark features a world-class landscape with tower karst formations and is known as the second-largest karst area in the world, after South China. The geopark is also rich in flora, fauna, and holds significant scientific and socio-cultural value. It has hundreds of caves that once served as shelters for prehistoric humans and others that are home to millions of butterfly species.
