Geopark Belitong

Belitung Geopark was selected as a Global Geopark thanks to its unique blend of geological, cultural, biological, and geographical diversity. The geopark boasts significant geological heritage, including granite rock formations in its waters, remnants of ancient underwater volcanoes, and the largest tin mineral deposits in Southeast Asia, which have played a key role in the region’s economic growth. Additionally, the area is known for the presence of Meteorite Stones (Tektite/Satam) scattered in its alluvial quaternary zones, adding to its geological uniqueness and appeal. All these elements make Belitung Geopark a destination rich in natural and cultural treasures, capable of capturing global attention.
