Diving Thousand Islands

The Thousand Islands offer a variety of diving spots suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. One of the most popular locations is Pulau Pramuka, situated within Jakarta Bay near Pulau Panggang Village. Known for its calm waters and coral restoration programs, the island is a great destination for divers who want to explore vibrant coral reefs and encounter marine species such as clownfish, butterflyfish, and reef sharks. Pramuka is also home to conservation centers, including sea turtle hatcheries, making it an ideal place to combine diving activities with eco-tourism.

Another favorite destination is Pulau Sepa, located approximately 100 kilometers from Marina Ancol Pier. Often referred to as the “Diver’s Paradise,” it is known for its excellent underwater visibility, white sandy beaches, and abundant marine biodiversity. Meanwhile, Pulau Pari, reachable within 1.5 to 2 hours by speedboat from Marina Ancol, offers easier access for weekend trips. Divers here can explore beautiful coral formations, seagrass beds, and shallow reef ecosystems that are perfect for underwater photography. With its variety of islands and underwater landscapes, the Thousand Islands remain one of the most accessible and rewarding diving destinations near Jakarta.
