Grebeg Sudiro

Grebeg Sudiro 2025 is a vibrant cultural and tourism event that celebrates the spirit of harmony, creativity, and cultural fusion in the historic Pasar Gede and Kampung Pecinan areas of Surakarta. Initiated in 2007 by local community leaders, Grebeg Sudiro has grown from a small neighborhood gathering into a nationally recognized festival, even reaching international fame.

In 2025, Grebeg Sudiro marks its 16th anniversary, continuing its legacy as a top event in Central Java. With the theme "Harmony in Diversity", the festival highlights the cultural fusion of the Javanese and Chinese communities, a tradition passed down through generations in Sudiroprajan.

The celebration kicks off with the Umbul Mantram ceremony, a heartfelt prayer and thanksgiving for the community’s well-being. The highlight of the event is the Cultural Carnival, featuring over 50 local performances from Surakarta and beyond.
