About the Event

The Sabang Marine Festival is an annual event held since 2015 to promote Sabang as one of the preferred maritime terminals in Southeast Asia for international yachts passing through the Strait of Malacca.

Domestic and international tourists attending the Sabang Marine Festival can enjoy a celebration that showcases all the attractions of Sabang in this annual festival, which was born as the most vibrant maritime cultural celebration in Aceh. It highlights the natural beauty of 0 km Indonesia, marine tourism, the diversity and uniqueness of local culture, culinary specialties, and various other exciting attractions found in Sabang.

From 10:00 to 23:00, on the second day, visitors can choose from various competitions, maritime attractions, and environmental preservation activities to participate in based on their personal interests.

The festival will close with various maritime cultural ceremonies.

Event Locations
Sabang Marine Festival 2024 will be held at various locations:

1. Main Venue: Menara Merah Putih Sabang
   The opening ceremony of the Sabang Marine Festival 2024 will be held at Menara Merah Putih Sabang. This venue becomes the event's icon for the year, located in the city center with a beautiful view of Sabang Bay.

2. Exhibition Venue: Tugu Segi Tiga Kongsi Sabang
   Sabang Marine Festival 2024 successfully gathers over 85 creative industry brands participating in the exhibition area.

3. Maritime Attraction Venue: Deck Marina and Sabang Bay
   The maritime attraction parade is one of the event's highlights, attracting much attention from visitors. Held at Marina Deck, visitors can watch the parade of maritime attractions from fishermen’s boats, sea commanders, and other exciting maritime performances.

4. Coastal Clean-Up Venue: Beaches in Sabang
   Sabang Marine Festival is committed to sustainable tourism. Therefore, the Coastal Clean-Up agenda is very important. This activity will be carried out at several beaches in Sabang, including Iboih, Gapang, and Pantai Kasih.

5. Water Sport Venue: Pelabuhan CT-1 Sabang
   Open Water Swimming, canoeing, and fishing competitions are some of the sports that will be contested and held at Pelabuhan CT-1 Sabang.

6. Cultural Process Venue: Sabang Tourism Village
   Fishermen and sea commanders will lead the traditional ceremony of Khanduri Melaot in the tourism villages of Ie Muelee and Anoi Hitam.

Do’s & Don’ts

Do’s:

• Arrive Early: Plan to arrive early to enjoy all the events and get a good spot.

• Try Seafood: Take the opportunity to taste the unique seafood dishes typically offered at the food stalls.
• Bring a Camera: Capture important moments, but ensure you don't disturb participants while taking photos.
• Dress Comfortably and Appropriately for the Weather: Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activities, and bring sun protection if necessary.

Don’ts:

• Do Not Litter: Respect the environment by disposing of trash in the designated bins.
• Avoid Disturbing the Show: Do not speak loudly or block other people's view during the event.
• Do Not Bring Loud Sound Devices: Avoid using sound equipment that could disturb others' experiences during the event.
• Do Not Force Yourself into Crowds: Maintain a safe distance and avoid pushing, especially if the crowd is too dense.
