Balla Lompoa Museum is a museum located in Sungguminasa Village, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. The museum was established on December 11, 1973, and it was originally the palace of the Gowa Kingdom built in 1935. The name "Balla Lompoa" in the Makassar language means "big house" or "palace," which served as the residence of the Gowa kings.
Balla Lompoa Museum currently houses the resplendent treasures and regalia of the former Sultan of Gowa, including the Gowa gold crown, bracelets with precious stones, royal swords, keris, and gold jewelry. Additionally, the museum is the site of the annual traditional ceremony called "accera kalompoang," which involves cleaning and weighing the gold crown that is believed to be a relic of Queen I Tanisagama, regarded as the first female ruler of Gowa.
