Festival Marabose
The Festival Marabose (FM) is an event designed to revive the memories of the younger generation and indigenous communities about the significant journey of Sultan Muhammad Al Baakir. This festival highlights the migration journey of the first Sultan of Bacan from Makian Island to various nearby islands, undertaken through maritime routes to find a safe and supportive area.
Through this historical re-enactment, the Marabose Festival aims to strengthen the bonds between the indigenous communities of South Halmahera and reconnect their shared cultural heritage. This festival not only celebrates history but also promotes the tourism, cultural, creative economy, and traditions of South Halmahera, contributing positively to the local economy.
