From the mosque to the White House in the Bacan Sultanate, these structures bear witness to the trade relations between the Bacan Sultanate and the Dutch during the colonial era. Various historical buildings, such as the sultanate’s mosque and the Dutch trading office, demonstrate the existence of economic cooperation, particularly in the spice trade in the South Halmahera region. Despite complex political dynamics, these architectural remnants now serve as historical evidence of the interactions between the sultanate and the Dutch colonial authorities.
