The Ubud Food Festival 2024 is returning from May 31 to June 2, 2024. Entering its 6th year, the Ubud Food Festival is back with a variety of programs featuring both emerging and renowned culinary talents from Indonesia, alongside some of Asia's top chefs and Michelin-starred awardees.

At the Ubud Food Festival’s Food Market, not only will Indonesian cuisine be showcased, but also locally crafted fermented beverages. So, what drinks are on the menu? Here’s the list:

1. Hatten Wines

Hatten Wines is Bali's first wine company, established by Ida Bagus Rai Budarsa in 1994. The Gus Rai family—Ida Bagus Rai Budarsa's nickname—started their fermented beverage business by producing arak and Balinese rice arak in 1968.

When he began making wine, Gus Rai produced a single product, a rosé made from the Balinese heritage grape variety Alphonse Lavallée. His goal was to introduce and place local wine on the global map.

There are 10 different types of wine produced from both heritage and international grape varieties, all cultivated in vineyards in North Bali. Hatten Wines are priced between IDR 180,000 and IDR 350,000.

2. Iceland Vodka

Iceland Vodka is an Indonesian-made vodka produced in Bali, known for its distinctive taste. This drink is crafted from Bali’s finest grains, with one of its primary ingredients being pure water sourced directly from natural springs.

The water undergoes a triple distillation process, with the final distillation using a charcoal filter to ensure purity.

Although Iceland Vodka is a local product, its quality is on par with imported vodkas, meeting international vodka standards. The triple distillation process results in a smooth and clear taste.

Iceland Vodka is available in various bottle sizes, including 250 ml, 350 ml, 500 ml, and 700 ml. The 250 ml bottle is priced at IDR 69,000, the 350 ml bottle at IDR 89,000, and the 500 ml bottle at IDR 129,000.

3. Club Soda

There are also cocktails made from fermented nutmeg, banana, and rice, along with a collection of classic drinks with a twist, such as the Nee-groni, crafted with house-made Campari.

4. Singaraja

Another fermented drink produced in Bali is Singaraja beer. This beer is crafted specifically to deliver a stable and pure taste, which is the key to Singaraja's popularity as a low-carb beer.

In addition to fermented drinks and local foods to savor at the Ubud Food Festival's Food Market, there are many other events to enjoy, including Food Tours, Painting Workshops, Culinary Theater, a Sustainability Forum, and much more. The festival will also feature Festival Ambassador and Bali’s first Puteri Indonesia and Miss Universe Indonesia 2022, Laksmi DeNeefe Suardana.
