Festival Bekudo Bono

Festival Bekudo Bono is an annual event aimed at promoting the Bono wave tourism area. To celebrate the festival, a series of activities are held, including the Bono Wave Race, Professional and Amateur Surfing Competitions, music and cultural performances, and traditional games. This festival is attended not only by local tourists but also international visitors due to the unique Bono waves, which are caused by the meeting of river currents flowing into the sea and ocean currents entering the river due to high tides (Tidal Bores). The waves occur in the Kampar River, making it one of the tidal bore waves in the world and the only one newly discovered in Indonesia.
