Asia Media Summit (AMS) XVIII 2023

The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is the largest annual gathering for media industry stakeholders across Asia, organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) in its capacity as a regional partner organization of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in the field of electronic media development. For the 18th Asia Media Summit (AMS XVIII), AIBD collaborated with Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kominfo) as co-organizers. Indonesia was once again selected as the host, with the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, serving as the MICE destination. Held over two days from May 21 to 25, 2023, the summit adopted the theme "Media Enhancing Economic Sustainability" to address the needs of AIBD member countries during economic recovery.

The topics highlighted in this summit included the future of television, social media for peace/disinformation, media leadership management, the role of media in economic recovery, and discussions on artificial intelligence (AI). In addition to the main meetings, the event featured seminars, training sessions, exhibitions, networking opportunities, a gala dinner, an awards night, entertainment, and excursions. 

The summit was attended in person by approximately 300 participants from 33 countries across Asia and the Pacific region, including Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Fiji, the Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, South Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, New Zealand, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Samoa, and Timor-Leste. Additionally, participants from countries outside the region, such as the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and Switzerland, were also present.
