Masjid Besar Annur

The An-Nur Great Mosque is the largest, most magnificent mosque and the premier religious tourism icon of Riau Province, situated in the heart of Pekanbaru City, often nicknamed the "Indonesian Taj Mahal" due to its stunning, grand design complemented by a large reflecting pool. Established in 1968, its architecture is a harmonious blend of Malay, Arabic, Turkish, and Indian styles, notably featuring four corner minarets and five domes. Following extensive renovations, including the installation of six electric umbrellas similar to those found at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, An-Nur has become a sophisticated spiritual hub that functions not only as a place of worship but also as a center for education and social activities in Riau.
