26th ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Council Meeting
In 2023, Indonesia hosted the 26th ASEAN Political and Security Council (APSC) Meeting. The event took place on Tuesday, 9 May 2023, in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). This meeting of ASEAN leaders marked the beginning of the 42nd ASEAN Summit series, which was officially opened by President Joko Widodo on 10 May 2023.
The APSC 2023 was attended by the ASEAN Secretary-General and the Foreign Ministers of Southeast Asian countries that are members of ASEAN, with the exception of Myanmar. Additionally, the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste participated in the meeting as the official 11th member of ASEAN.
On this occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia, Mahfud MD, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, represented the Indonesian Government in leading the meeting of ASEAN leaders.
