History of Museum Pusaka Karo
The museum was initiated by Leonardus Joosten Edigius, known as Pastor Leo Joosten Ginting, a Dutch missionary with a deep concern for preserving Karo culture. Museum Pusaka Karo was officially inaugurated on February 9, 2013, by Dr. Ahman Sya, Director General of Culture-Based Creative Economy, along with Archbishop Anicetus Sinaga OFMCap.
Collections of Museum Pusaka Karo
Museum Pusaka Karo houses approximately 70 collections, primarily ethnographic artifacts donated or entrusted by the Karo community. These items represent traditional tools, rituals, and daily life of the Karo people.
