Indonesia has become a favorite destination for professional and amateur surfers around the world since the Indonesian beaches offer some of the most thrilling rolling waves almost all year round. No wonder, therefore, that the well-known competition called Bali Pro has chosen charismatic Bali as a venue for its top competition.
Bringing top surfers from across the globe to the enchanting beauty and challenging waves of Bali Island, the World Surf League’s Corona Bali Protected Surfing Championship is currently ongoing from May 27th to June 9th, 2018 at Keramas Beach, on the island’s east coast.
Initially announced as "Corona Bali Pro", the international surfing event was renamed to "Corona Bali Protected“ with the aim to sound the alarm on one of the biggest threats to the survival of the world's oceans, namely: marine plastic pollution. The event embodies the vision to turn Bali into a pilot project, a blueprint for solving this serious global environmental issue by implementing the Parley AIR Strategy- Avoid plastic, Intercept plastic debris, and Redesign materials and products.
