Wowinei is a cultural festival celebrating the role of maritime women in preserving Wakatobi’s cultural heritage. The event features hekente performances, women’s talks, cultural shows, female-led UMKM mini expos, photo exhibitions, film screenings, boat tug-of-war competitions, and traditional Bajo games. Held along the seaside with CHSE principles and ecological values, the festival offers interactive experiences for visitors, highlighting women as key cultural preservers and drivers of sustainable tourism in Wakatobi’s biosphere reserve and National Park.
