Wayang Jogja Night Carnival

Wayang Jogja Night Carnival (WJNC) is an iconic night parade in Yogyakarta that has been held annually since 2016. Showcasing street art and traditional wayang stories, WJNC features vibrant choreography, stunning costumes, contemporary music, and spectacular lighting displays. Participants from 14 districts take part in the parade, highlighting the Jogja Monument, decorated floats, and wayang characters. In 2026, WJNC is enhanced by WJNC Fest to extend the visitor experience, encourage greater audience participation, and promote eco-friendly practices such as smoke-free areas and reduced plastic use. The festival also invites the public to dance together in this lively cultural celebration.
