Indonesia is honored to be the first and only ASEAN country that is assigned to be the host of G20 Presidency. Therefore, in an effort to support the various highlights of the G20 in November 2022, several regions in Indonesia are gearing up to hold a series of side events, which are done as the first step in establishing a positive image as well as promoting the diversity of culture and tourism in Wonderful Indonesia.
Bringing the theme of “Recover Stronger, Recover Together”, The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will invite Ambassadors of G20 member countries, G20 Sherpas Track, Ministries/Agencies and other relevant stakeholders to attend three series of side events, namely:
1. Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Conference 2022
- Theme: Unlocking Social Investment Opportunities in Indonesia and Beyond Proposed Engagement for 2022; “The Asian Decade”
- Date: 21 - 24 June 2022
- Venue: Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali
Gathering 750 participants comprising corporations, foundations, and governmental institutions from AVPN network, this conference seeks to improve access to social sector financing and encourage collaboration between the private and public sectors to help the creative industries to recover from the current crisis.
2. International Wellness Tourism Conference Festival (IWTCF)
- Theme: A Sustainability Strategy for the World Tourism Recovery and Growth through Wellness Tourism for All
- Date: 5 - 7 August 2022
- Venue: Alila Solo, Central Java
Consisting of 3-days conference and workshop with 300 in-person meeting participants and 300 online attendees, this series of events promotes the development of wellness tourism by providing a platform to declare and showcase Indonesian wellness tourism products, which support health recovery and economic growth.
3. World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE)
- Theme: Inclusively Creative; A Global Recovery
- Date: 5 - 7 October 2022
- Venue: Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali
This conference will be attended by 3,000 offline and online participants from 50 countries/international organizations. The main agenda for this meeting is to strengthen. the global creative economy issues as a tool for global economic recovery. Hopefully, the achieved outcome will also establish Indonesia's position as a leader in the development and dialogue of the multilateral Creative Economy.
As it was mentioned above, those three events will be held in two regions: Bali and Central Java, which are two regions known for their stunning natural attractions and distinctive cultural traditions.
