Makam Sentot Alibasah

The Tomb of Sentot Alibasah Prawirodirjo, located in Bengkulu City, is a vital cultural heritage site dedicated to one of the most important figures in Indonesian history: Sentot Alibasah, the youngest Field Marshal of Prince Diponegoro during the Java War (1825–1830). Following his surrender and subsequent suspicion by the Dutch, Sentot was exiled to Bengkulu in 1833, where he passed away in 1855 and was interred. His burial site is distinctive, protected by an ornate traditional structure locally called a "Tabot" (a local term for a protective tomb structure), serving today as a historical landmark, a cultural reserve, and a destination for religious pilgrimage that honors his legacy as a national hero.
