The World Hydropower Congress (WHC) is a biennial global congress organized by the International Hydropower Association (IHA), headquartered in London, UK. WHC 2023, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia and PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), adopted the theme “Powering Sustainable Growth.”
The congress brought together over 200 speakers and more than 1,000 delegates from 120 countries, including key stakeholders such as decision-makers, innovators, investors, hydropower industry experts, government officials, academics, NGO leaders, representatives from international financial institutions, and global media. This global event delivered high-level policy statements, recommendations, and commitments that are expected to influence sustainable hydropower development worldwide and be presented at the COP28 meeting.
