Travel Exchange, Pameran Pariwisata Indonesia, UMKM Ekonomi Kreatif, dan Festival Kuliner ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023

As part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 held in Yogyakarta, two significant events took place at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC): the Travel Exchange (Travex) ATF 2023 and the Indonesian Tourism Exhibition, Creative Economy MSMEs, and ATF 2023 Culinary Festival. Travex ATF 2023 is an annual business-to-business (B2B) exhibition at the Southeast Asian regional level, organized rotationally by the tourism authority of the ASEAN chair country. Held at Hall B-C of JEC from February 3 to 5, 2023, this event was the first fully in-person Travex successfully conducted since the pandemic began.  

With the theme "A Journey to Wonderful Destinations," Travex ATF 2023 aimed to showcase tourism and creative economy products and services from a wide range of stakeholders across Southeast Asia. Participants included representatives from governments, state institutions, national tourism organizations, travel and hospitality industries, accommodation providers, tourism services such as travel agents and tour operators, the hospitality industry, as well as other professionals in tourism and MICE sectors.  

Key Highlights of Travex ATF 2023:  

• Participation of 348 international exhibitors from 11 ASEAN countries and 115 buyers from 29 countries worldwide.  
• Approximately 4,746 potential business meetings recorded on the Pre-Scheduled Appointment platform.  
• Attendance by 50 local, national, and international media outlets, increasing the event's visibility.  

The event was successfully carried out and aligned with its objectives. According to the ATF 2023 impact report, the total potential transaction value from Travex was estimated at IDR 527.22 billion (USD 35.14 million), with Indonesia-specific tourism packages contributing around IDR 237.25 billion (USD 15.8 million). Travex ATF 2023 not only demonstrated its importance as a premier platform for Southeast Asia’s tourism and creative economy industries but also reinforced regional collaboration and showcased Indonesia’s capacity as a leading destination for tourism and MICE events.
