The 22nd ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Ministers Meeting (22nd M-ATM Plus Three) H.E. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Republic of Indonesia, chaired the Meeting and H.E. Ishii Hiroo, Minister of State for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan, as Co-Chair.
The Meeting noted that based on preliminary figures by 2022, ASEAN Plus Three countries are experiencing year-on-year growth in international visitor arrivals of approximately 79.36%. The meeting expressed optimism that the tourism sector will recover from the impact of the pandemic in the next 2-3 years as countries continue to roll out COVID-19 vaccination programs and prioritize hygiene and safety for travelers.
