Festival Pesona Bau Nyale
About The Event
The Festival Pesona Bau Nyale is an annual event that is always enthusiastically welcomed by the local community of Central Lombok Regency. The locals believe that the Nyale are manifestations of Princess Mandalika’s hair. As a form of respect, a traditional ritual is held every 20th of the 10th month (according to the Sasak calendar).
The Bau Nyale 2024 event will focus on the Bau Nyale Ritual Procession, which introduces the public to the tradition that takes place before going down to the sea for the Bau Nyale on February 29 – March 1. This event will be held from February 23 – March 1, 2024 at Seger Beach, Kuta, Central Lombok, NTB, with various activities such as: Maos Aksara Lontar, Betandak, Sasak Shadow Puppet Show (Wayang Kulit Sasak), and the Bau Nyale Ritual.
