Festival Pesona Aekhula

Festival Pesona Aekhula (FPA) is a signature event and a strategic tourism branding initiative for West Nias Regency, based on cultural heritage, first held in 2018. The word “Aekhula” means “The West” and refers to the geographical location of West Nias, in the western part of Nias Island. Aekhula has become a tourism promotion tagline for the region. This event serves as a unifying platform for the people of West Nias, encouraging participation from all districts in showcasing their unique cultural creativity.
The theme for FPA 2025 is The Sacred of Aekhula, which highlights the rich cultural traditions of West Nias, filled with the noble values of the ancestors, expressed through dance, poetry, and rituals. One of the sacred traditions is the erection of megalithic stones, marking the recognition of nobility in the past. This tradition will be presented as a cultural attraction during the peak event of FPA 2025.
