Held from February 15–17, 2026, in the waters of Indragiri Hilir Regency, the Pulau Belimbing Pacu Sampan is a maritime cultural tradition that functionally serves as a communal gathering to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1447H. This annual event showcases more than just traditional boat racing sportsmanship and coastal local wisdom; it acts as a cultural syncretism of religious values, where the community gathers to strengthen social bonds before shifting their focus to the rituals of fasting. Through a combination of physically demanding competitions, performing arts, and local economic activity, the event serves as a collective celebration to ensure community solidarity remains intact before entering a phase of spiritual tranquility.
