Festival Mudik Wonosobo
The Wonosobo Homecoming Festival is an annual post-Eid celebration featuring the region’s iconic tradition of unmanned hot-air balloons. These large, colorful balloons are crafted collectively from oil paper and launched using traditional heat-generated smoke with safety tethers. Each year, the festival showcases dozens of creatively designed balloons highlighting local culture, along with folk performances and Wonosobo’s signature dishes like mie ongklok and tempe kemul. The latest edition includes international participants, music concerts, culinary bazaars, and photo/video competitions—making it a vibrant and unique holiday tourism attraction.
