Batanghari Festival

The Batanghari Festival, inspired by the Batanghari River—the longest river in Sumatra—will showcase the potential of local nature and culture through a Decorated Boat Parade. The Batanghari River, which flows from West Sumatra to the South China Sea, divides the center of Jambi City and has become a popular tourist attraction, especially in the evenings. This event explores the local wisdom of the villages along the river, featuring traditions and the daily life of the people, deeply connected to the river. The festival carries the theme "The Malay Kingdom of Jambi," with a magnificent boat parade celebrating the history and culture of Malay Jambi. Visitors will be invited to experience the beauty of local traditions and explore the life intertwined with the Batanghari River.
