Southeast Asia Business Event Forum (SEABEF) 2024

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) successfully held the Southeast Asia Business Event Forum (SEABEF) 2024. This is the largest annual conference initiated and owned by Kemenparekraf. The event was held to discuss global trends, issues, and challenges in the MICE sector and the event industry in Indonesia. SEABEF 2024 is the second edition after SEABEF 2023, which took place alongside the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2023 in Yogyakarta on February 3, 2023. This year, SEABEF was held in conjunction with the Wonderful Indonesia Travel Fair (WITF) 2024. The theme of SEABEF 2024, "The Transformative Impact of Sustainability on the Business Event Industry," supports the development of quality tourism in Indonesia and explores how technological innovation can support sustainable MICE events.

The event was attended by over 400 participants, including tourism authorities and local governments, convention bureaus, academics from tourism universities, international buyers and local sellers from WITF, MICE industry players, and MICE industry associations from both domestic and international organizations, such as ICCA Indonesia, ASPERAPI, INCCA, INACEB, IVENDO, ICCA Asia Pacific, STB, MYCEB, TCEB, MACEOS, and SACEOS.

SEABEF 2024 emphasized the Indonesian government's commitment to implementing sustainability principles, strengthening human resource capacity, and advancing digital technology in every business event, which significantly impacts economic cooperation, destination promotion, innovation, human resource development, and the growth of the event sector, supported by strategic policies.
