Planning to Go To Jakarta by Plane? Take Note of These Important CHSE Protocols

Micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) have been reimposed in Jakarta from 22nd June 2021. Due to a rapid escalation of COVID-19 in Jakarta, some sectors, including airports, have created new regulations. Learn about the CHSE (cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability) protocols before you travel to or from Jakarta by plane. The CHSE protocols are as follows:

CHSE Protocols for Airports:

CHSE regulations will be followed during all operational activities at the airport to prioritize health and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Pertaining to the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (LSSR), these are the regulations that have to be followed at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport:

PSBB

1 | Installation of thermal scanners in the arrival and departure areas. All passengers will be required to have their body temperature checked. There will be coordination with the Port Health Authority (KKP), Ministry of Health to create effective procedures.

2 | Implementation of physical distancing in all areas, such as check in lines, boarding lounges, and bathrooms.

3 | Establishing a checkpoint to verify rapid test/ PCR test results.

4 | Establishing a checkpoint for the verification of the Health Alert Card (HAC) in the arrival area. This will be in coordination with KKP Kemenkes.

5 | Ensuring the terminal’s maximum capacity of 50% during the rush hour. This can be increased with the use of technology.

6 | Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), such as disposable masks and gloves, is mandatory for all airport personnel.

7 | Following quarantine protocols, if there is a passenger presumed to be infected with COVID-19.

8 | Conducting protocol management if there is a passenger presumed to be infected with COVID-19.

9 | Facilitating touchless devices, installing hand sanitizer dispensers, and establishing hand-washing areas in different parts of the terminal, while also periodically disinfecting all the areas of the airport using UV sterilizers and disinfectants.

10 | Facilitating rapid tests at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

11 | Ensuring good air circulation and air cooling in all areas.

12 | Raising public awareness about prevention of COVID-19.

13 | Ensuring that all commercial tenants prioritize the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.

CHSE Protocols for Airlines:

Besides the terminal area, all airlines operating at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta must follow the regulations that have been introduced under the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (LSSR) for the comfort and safety of the passengers. These regulations are:

PSBB

1 | Ensuring that all passengers fulfill the health document requirement.

2 | Verifying all health documents/ rapid test or PCR test results before the flight.

3 | Ensuring that the maximum number of total passengers in each airplane is 70% of its capacity.

4 | Implementing physical distancing in the baggage claim area.

5 | Spraying disinfectants in the airplane’s cabin.

6 | Ensuring that all airline staff will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

CHSE Protocols for All Passengers at the Airport:

All passengers who have scheduled a flight to and from Jakarta by plane must also know about these regulations:

PSBB

1 | It’s obligatory to wear a mask at all times inside the airport and inside the airplane.

2 | It’s obligatory to maintain physical distance.

3 |All passengers are not permitted to have one-way or two-way conversations on the phone or in person during the trip.

4 | Eating and drinking is not permitted during a plane ride that is less than 2 hours long. Those who are obliged to take medicine, which if not taken could endanger the safety and health of the individual and/or others, are exempted from this regulation.

5 | All passengers on a domestic flight must present their identity documents. These include an ID card, plane ticket, and rapid test/ PCR test result that is valid for 14 days.

6 | Passengers must fill a Health Alert Card (HAC) manually or online.

7 | Passengers who have recently taken international flights must present their PCR test results from the labs in the country of departure. If a passenger is unable to present the document, then he/she is required to take a PCR test on his/her arrival at the airport. The passenger must also be quarantined while he/she waits for the test result.

8 | All passengers must go through the Security Check Point (SCP) to have their body temperature checked and must report the result at the airline check-in. Local and international passengers arriving from international flights must also comply with these 9 procedures at the Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.
