Second Phase of Covid-19 Vaccination in Nusa Dua Has Been 100% Completed

JAKARTA, 31 MAY 2021 - In order to commence the recovery of the tourism industry in Bali, Indonesia has been maintaining rigorous preparations to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the Island of the Gods, including by accelerating the COVID-19 vaccination program.

On 30 May 2021, it was reported that the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination for tourism and creative economy workers at the Nusa Dua area had finally been completed. Approximately over 8,000 participants had received the second dose of vaccine, which was held from 20 to 28 May 2021.

The recipients of this COVID-19 vaccination program consisted of hotel and facility employees in the Nusa Dua area, security and cleaning officers, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) employees, the beach merchant association members, and transportation personnel.

The vaccination program for tourism and creative economy workers in the Nusa Dua area was organized by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprise in collaboration with the Provincial Governments of Bali and Badung Regency, ITDC, Bali Tourism Board, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, and Bali International Medical Center (BIMC) Siloam Nusa Dua.

"We would like to thank all of those who have supported the implementation of this COVID-19 vaccination program. With the completion of vaccination activities for tourism actors in the Nusa Dua area, the Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certification which has been acquired by the Nusa Dua area and tenants, as well as the implementation of strict health protocols in the area, we are optimistic that the Nusa Dua area is ready to become a Green Zone Destination that will support Bali's tourism recovery programs planned by the government," stated the Managing Director of the Nusa Dua, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita on Sunday (30/5).
