Indonesia Postponed the Tourism Reactivation in Bali, Further Preparation Expected

Jakarta, 7 July 2021 - Indonesia decided to postpone the plan for tourism reactivation in Bali following the commencement of Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat) in Java and Bali from 3 - 20 July 2021. The decision was made because the government planned to extend further preparations due to the spiking cases of COVID-19 in both islands in order to ensure the safety and convenience of future tourists.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, fully supports the PPKM Darurat policy on Java and Bali, including the international flight arrangements and extended quarantine.

“We also call for the closing of all destinations and postponement of all tourism and creative economic events in all parts of Indonesia. We understand that this must be a bitter situation for all tourism and creative economy industries and players, but the COVID-19 data shows an emergency so we cannot take any more serious risks, and must prioritize health,” stated Sandiaga on Saturday (3/7/2021).

Meanwhile, Indonesia is still pushing to the utmost effort to fight the spread of COVID-19 by strictly enforcing the health protocols, accelerating the vaccination program, and arranging procedures, especially for travelers who are planning to visit Indonesia when the right time has arrived.
