Bali Maintains Its Position as the Province with the Highest COVID-19 Vaccination Rate


 

JAKARTA, JULY 12th, 2021 - Due to the preparation towards tourism reactivation, Bali continues pushing their utmost effort to  by maintaining its position as the province with the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate. Based on the latest data from the official website of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia on June 29th, 2021 regarding COVID-19 vaccination, Bali became the province with the highest number of first doses of vaccination, which was 308,393 percent of the initial target (2,591,609 vaccinated out of 715,915 target).

The second position is occupied by the Riau Islands with 240.34 percent and in the third place is Jakarta Special Capital Region with 143.49 percent.

The data from the Ministry of Health also shown that Bali has still achieved the first place for the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination with a percentage of 103.88 percent of the initial target (764,344 vaccinated out of 715,915 target). Jakarta Special Capital Region followed in second position with 63.84 percent and DI Yogyakarta in third position with 58.99 percent.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin gave appreciation to the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination in Jakarta Special Capital Region and Bali. He said that the vaccinations in those two provinces were equivalent to developed countries.

"I see this achievement comparable to many states, provinces, big cities in developed countries around the world for more than 70 or 50 percent of getting the first injection," said Budi when welcoming the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine phase broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday (11/7).
