My 5 best experiences traveling 2 weeks in Indonesia

I need to admit that two weeks has been too little to explore all that Indonesia has to offer, especially since it is an archipelago of about 17,000 islands. Imagine how many paradises are hidden! Bali is the first destination that comes to mind when we think about traveling to this amazing country, I myself have spent one whole month on the island and could not explore a fraction of what the "Island of the Gods" can provide, there is plenty to do in Bali. But obviously there is so much more! I had this certainty in my second visit, when I landed in the country along with the team that was selected to be part of the Trip of Wonders 2017. We visited the islands of Alor, Komodo and Raja Ampat to explore the finer points of Indonesian diving, those who cannot miss the list of any passionate about the sport. It was surreal because I had the chance to be in some of the places that came to my list of the worlds most beautiful.

Here's the list with my top 5 experiences:

1 | Piaynemo Viewpoint

This is probably Raja Ampat's best-known postcard, it's not hard to understand why. In between dives, I had the chance to meet one of the places that will certainly be on the list of "most beautiful in life," the Piaynemo Viewpoint. The view take your breath away, a mixture of colors that even when facing such beauty, it is hard to believe.

2 | Anemone Valley

I do not know if you've had the opportunity to dive, but believe me: it's an otherworldly experience. I am not the most experienced diver, but I have done dives in Thailand, Fiji, Australia and several other countries. However, it was on the island of alor that I found my favorite diving spot. The Anemone Valley is simply the location with the highest concentration of anemones, and consequently clown fish. No words to describe!

3 | Arborek Village

Also in Raja Ampat, it is located a small tropical paradise that is home to approximately 200 people, the Arborek Village. Not only the landscape is surreal, but the reception of local people and their joy in receiving strangers from different parts of the world.

4 | Liveaboard Trip

I imagined that visiting the Komodo region would only be to meet his famous dragons. But, I was surprised. The possibility of doing a Liveaboard Trip sleeping on the boat, with the chance to meet incredible dive sites such as Manta Point and Batu Balong, was an experience that will remain forever in my memory.

5 | Sunrise at Gili Lawa

Gili Lawa is an island in the Komodo National Park region. Making the trail to see the sunrise at its highest point was included in the Liveaboard Trip script. The walk started at 4am and lasted about 50 minutes, tiring, but every effort was rewarded by one of the most beautiful sights of the whole trip.

After these two weeks, I have a certainty. Indonesia is a country with natural beauty out of the ordinary, both in and out of the water.
