Bali Interhash 2016 and Cross Java by Rail

 

Bali, the fabled Island of the gods, will host the International Hash (Interhash) 2016 on 19-22 May 2016 based at the Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur. Hash is a non-competitive sport that combines the elements of fraternity, entertainment, and fitness.

Interhash is a biennial event that has been held since 1978. Having hosted Interhash in Jakarta (1982), Bali (1988), Magelang (2012), this is the fourth time for Indonesia to host this prestigious event again. The event moves from one country to another with participants from hash clubs all over the world.

After 28 years, Bali has finally been re-elected as the best and challenging venue for cross-country sports activities. Interhash combines running, trekking, hiking and other activites.

There are 11 destinations available for Bali Interhash 2016 run sites, which are: Bedugul, Pekarangan Baturiti (Tabanan), Lapangan Tembak (Shooting range)  Sembung (Tabanan), Batulantang (Badung), Sangeh (Badung), Goa Gajah, Siring (Gianyar), Goa Lawah (Gianyar), Padang Padang Beach (Semarapura), Turkish Pandavas (Uluwatu), Nusa Penida (Klungkung). Meanwhile, there will also be a parade of art and culture at Red Dress Run in Sanur and a Ball Breaker Run at the Lapangan Petang in Badung.

The Bali Interhash 2016 is expected to attract at least 6,000 hashers from 60 countries spreading across  Asia, Europe, and the US. About 5,234 hashers have already registered for the event. During the event, Bali will be packed with domestic and international tourists as Interhash 2016 wil promote Bali directly to the global market.

Before the event, all hashers will be invited to visit Bandung (West Java); East Java: SurabayaBanyuwangi, Malang starting from 10 to 17 May 2016 under “The Great Java Train Rumble” activity through a sightseeing trip by rail across Java island.

For eight days, hashers will enjoy a gamut of interesting tourist activities, such as running and walking while enjoying Bandung's cultural attractions. In addition, hashers will also climb up Mount Bromo and watch the Ijen crater (blue fire) in East Java.

After the main event, all hashers will have the opportunity to enjoy series of other events in Bali, There will also be a Komodo Tour from 23-24 May 2016. About 100 hashers have already signed up toparticipate for the event.
