This event is held in batches at six destinations and the first batch took place during 4th-12th October 2020, in three cities: Bogor, Bintan, and Yogyakarta.

Nia Niscaya, Marketing Deputy for Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/ Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, made a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (13/10/2020) that most tourist destinations in Indonesia have started implementing the CHSE-based health protocols. However, collaboration with relevant stakeholders is required to promote the implementation of health protocols in these destinations.

“This is why the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy organized an event called Trip of Wonders, a familiarization trip program to introduce and promote tourist destinations across Indonesia, especially the ones implementing CHSE-based health protocols in collaboration with the country’s key opinion leaders,” Nia Niscaya said.

These influencers are expected to publish material on social media about the implementation of health protocols in these tourist destinations with hashtags, such as #TripofWonders, #WonderfulIndonesia, # DiIndonesiaAja, and #FromIndonesiaWithLove.

“This is necessary so that tourists know which destinations have implemented proper health protocols,” Nia Niscaya added.

Nia Niscaya hoped that this would help encourage domestic and foreign tourists to visit tourist destinations in Indonesia.

The 11 influencers that participated in this event were Cindy Lauw, Patricia Ranieta, Mario Caesar, Dimas Ramadhan, Yuki Anggia, Debi Sagita, Eka Situmorang, Kelsey Vaughne, Zacka Mega, Veronika Desi, and Aggie.

The Trip of Wonders started in Bogor. The influencers were invited to trek to Leuwi Hejo waterfall, stroll around Sentul Cultural Park, and explore Cibodas Botanical Garden and Indonesian Safari Park. The next destination was Bintan. The influencers were invited to explore Bintan Mangrove, snorkel and canoe at White Sands Island, and experience water sports at Treasure Bay.

The last destination was Yogyakarta. The influencers were invited to take a VW tour of Karanganyar tourism village, paint batik at Omah Kecebong, explore Parangkusumo Gumuk Pasir and sunflower fields, and enjoy the sunset at Ratu Boko Temple.

During the Trip of Wonders, the participants followed all the health protocols, from washing hands or using a hand sanitizer to checking body temperature, wearing masks, and maintaining a physical distance.
